decent, under massive pressure after photos revealed yesterday, by fbi, killed an m.i.t. campus officer, then carjacked a mercedes suv overnight, police in hot pursuit chased them to watewatertown, a deafening gunft overnight ensued. shattering a neighborhood, listen to this. this last hour of trading dow jones while down 17 had been down much more. we have s&p 500 reversing, moving higher by 10. and nazdaq has been strong today up about 35. now, some of this right now dow would e higher if not for a rare misfrom ibm. after the bell yesterday, earnings came out they mised on both top and bottom line, dragging tech sector down and dow industrials, ibm down a significant percentage after a sliding yen, hurt ibm earnings in japan and computer services provider failed to close a number of deals, ibm is one of those companies that switched from providing -- remember think pad? they sold that a long time ago, they are very much into service. major dealing in u.s., tentative, three analyst cut price targets on ibm.

and another dow component verizon with healthy earnings, 68 cents per share that is more than 12% higher at the moment, up about a dollar and 9-cents. ubs raised target on phone service provider, verizon hitting $52 a share. over the last hour and a half, moving higher and staying there. up about $109. as we watched development and we'll put this in a split screen. in watertown. just so you don't miss anything, we'll get to floor show, traders at new york stock exchange, cme group and nymex and lauren on the floor of the new york stock exchange. first though to our traders. your thoughts john on the fact that while we're down about 23 points for dow industrials

almost like but for ibm we would have a higher market even with the news. >> that just add its volatility that we've seen in the market, the big swings up and down continuing in the market. we'll see them moving forward. ibm taken out, we're green across the board not surprising considers that headlines and earning season effects already. let's look forward to next week. not a lot of economic data will move the markets, we have cat tractor on monday, a big bellwether name that could show some direction. and the headlines that are coming out this weekend will add or subtract from sentiment of investors intention of getting back into the market. i think that intention is there i think they want to get back -n. but right now triggers are not showing it. liz: breaking news, red sox versus kansas city royals game, which was supposed to happen tonight at fenway park has

according to mlb, been postponed, red sox and kansas city royals came postponed. you cannot bring in that many people into fenway park when you have someone just a few miles down the road in watertown still on the loose, there is too much tentativeness. we'll kiev you developed on this. the bruins and the pe pen pengu, that game is supposed to be held tonight but we're still awaiting word, but it is very doubtful. it is not a good idea to bring that many people into one place where this guy could slip in suspect number 2 still on the loose, dzhokhar tsarnaev 19 years old of chechen decent, his

chinese slowdown, i think there is worry coming back into the market. but does that mean that market is going dock back down, i don't think so. >> it is the fed, keep that in mind, fed continues to prop up the market. some say you are not being very smart if you don't get yourself into equity, right now s&p laggards, peabody energy down about 7%. and ge that got into a bigger natural gas portion of the business. jonathan you tell me you are at nymex. >> natural gas is a big story not getting a lot of focus in energy markets right now, we're at highest level since summer of 2011. we had 9 weeks of continued gains in natural gas. liz: hold on, i hate to remind

people of this, we two years ago were at $14. so, this is a big move right now in the grand scream of things. >> also a -- last year we were at $190. we hav$1.90. we have made progress, but it is more appealing for people to more toward naturals go in the future, and pulling away procrude oil a little bit. liz: it is higher, but still below $88 a barrel for crude, brent at 19, have a relaxing weekend, now markets, we have dow, down just about 14 points, really trying to show some true resilience. and by the way, transports higher, utility higher, vick's i-- slightly lower. there is not a lot of concern in

7 to 9,000 police officers in the region. once again, now not just the red sox versus the royals at fenway park but also bruins aad penguins, national hockey league, and major league baseball postponing the games. and big apple ccrcus, held at boston city hall plaza, probably set up in front of city hall, a huge cement area there. that too has been postponed. clearly the city remains very much in partial to full lockdown, unless it depends on where your region circumstance but near watertown and cambridge, they do not know where this armed and dangerous suspect of chechen decent, 19-year-old dzhokhar tsarnaev still on the loose. okay city of boston locked down

today. one company whose doors are closed today, many are. but, we were able to get carbonnite chairman and ceo david friend on the phone in a fox, exclusive. this is important to sort of set the scene for us. you guys have been hurting ex smoke alley since monday -- emotionally since monday, your offers i understand is right there on huntington street very much near the finish line of the boston marathon, what has it been like today. >> today, i was on commonwealth avenue, a block from where the bombing went off. and it is usually a busy street, right now it is deserted. only other time is christmas morning. >> i can only imagine, and as i understand it. your offers was not closed tuesday. but you had a lot of people working from home, have you closed it, is that due to what

you felt was a dangerous and fluid situation and boston police recommended t? >> yes, and the governor on the radio this morning requesting that everyone close for the day. so that this would you know, allow the emergency personnel to move freely about the city without getting through traffic. liz: david, as a business leader. what is this like? it has been a emotional and financial toll for everyone. the emotional part is way more important, we understand that. but it is not over, what do you plan to do into the weekend, and then monday, will you open your doors for business monday if the suspect is not yet been caught? >> well, you know my primary concern is for safety of our 220 employees we have here in boston. you transportyou know it was sce day, a lot of us were down on boylston day, including me, watching the race come in.

and when the bombs went off we heard it loud and clear in the office. and looked down and could see all of the activity and people screaming and running through the per mall to street, my first thought was for my employees, we'll take our cues in terms of monday from the government as to whether or not it is safe to open. liz: may i ask if all your employees were safe? was anyone injured while watching? >> nobody was injury, fortunately. we did not have anybody that was close to where the bombs went off. but it was scary for a lot of the people who had been out there. various times of the day, some of whom were standing very close to where the bombs went off. you know earlier in the afternoon. >> what kind of psychological toll do you think this takes on people in the boston area.

1.4 million or so people work and live in the boston area, and exterior suburbs, including water town and cambridge they are very much in lockdown the focus of police investigation, moving forward, what do you plan to do for your employees, a lot of people talk about psychological teams in this may have lasting effects. >> it is hard to say, if that looks like some that would be needed or advicible's would do that you know we want to do whatever we need to do to get everyone comfortable. but i think this is a tough city, and i think the you know feeling is that this is you know, a one-off event. and it could have happened anywhere. unfortunately it happened in our backyard. we'll get passed it in a short

liz: america's airrines are preparing for landing in federal court, they are suing the government. hoping to head off expected big flight delays next week. as lawsuit potentially fly we have jeff flock flying over to o'hare, this gets crade. but this is related to sequestration. >> absolutely, furloughs to air traffic controllers that go into effect, faa says because of sequestration. they are suing both faa and dot seeking a stay of the furloughs in dc district court, they want controllers deemed essential personnel, people that would not be subject to a furlough. they are essential for air traffic control system to continue without major problems, i pressed organization on this, they said, they do not expect though a decision by dc circuit

this stay, request by sunday, that is when the furloughs go into effect, they say, the delays should begin sunday in afternoon. here is a quote from nick callio, the president of airline for america, airline trade group, he said, furloughs are illegal. they are irresponsible and damaging, most of all they are unnecessary, saying there are plenty of other places that faa could cut, they are playing political football with this. , when pressed on who do you mean? he said whoever has implemented these cuts, this is the faa, airline stocks have been well over the course of past year, they have done well today. on a day when market is mixed. but a tell -- i tell you, if we have catastrophic delays they are predicting, airline stocks may not do so well going forward, nick callio saying this

going too far on steinberg case, i never bet michael steinberg, this is a interesting case. remember they brought -- charges involved. him receiving inside information, from on two stocks, nvidia and dell. liz: nvidia, a graphic chipmaker. >> that is great, he allegedly received insider information from a corporate or in the case, a former analyst. john hor vat who received it from someone else. when inside information gets washed between 4 sources, the question becomes is it public.

the range at $27 per share. what typically will you do with the money you are raising for the ipo? >> this integrated manages. so we can deal leverage and we have term loves to take out so investors will benefit in the immediate term. liz: then you could focus on the friends. you have won there. who is that little guy? >> this is penny. she is a time when. we have hundreds and our collection. we have 67,000 animals in our care. we can connect people with animals in a way that inspires them and it is a different product that we have. liz: i have been down there a long time maybe they have never seen a pate when. maybe tuxedos.

@%pital expenditure and you are sensitive and vulnerable to a recovering economy that may or may not stumble. are you prepared for some stumbling blocks along the way? it has been a tentative recovery. >> to give background i started in our company as a teenager i have seen a lot of economic cycles. this one we saw a gradual improvement that we benefit from such a different experience aad then we have destination markets and regional markets regional we will see them in florida and california. >> the stock jumped right out of the gate it looks like a smart idea the blackstone was your biggest donor and they could have sold you easily to another private outfit. whitey think the ipo route was taken? >> i think blackstone found

david: the vix is down dramaticly. we're down double digits on the vix. the it down 12%. apparently the market discounted the concern in boston, what is happening in europe and china. but, lauren simonetti down at new york stock exchange. you didn't help ibm. they had bad earnings. that is a real drag on the dow which is actually in the in the plus. despite the drag the down of dow, ibm, the dow is in the plus. >> it was their first profit miss since 2005 for ibm. not to mention it was their worst pest arge loss -- percentage loss since the flash crash for ibm. now ibm is negative for 2013. liz: dell shares in the last 20 minutes, a "wall street journal" is telling them that sources that carl icahn doesn't want to buy the company or blackstone. dell shares sliding. >> two
